Conveyor Belt Repair Plate & Adhesive Selection Guide
1. Repair Plate Characteristics
The rubber surface of the repair plate is primarily composed of BR/IR/SBR polymers, offering superior slip resistance and wear resistance compared to standard plates. The bonding surface features a CN semi-vulcanized layer, which undergoes a specific chemical reaction with cold vulcanization adhesive. This enhances the adhesive's wetting properties, ensuring a strong bond between the repair plate and the roller.
2. Critical Role of Adhesive in Cold Vulcanization Drum Lagging
In on-site cold vulcanization drum lagging operations, the requirements for the adhesive are stringent. If an adhesive with poor bonding performance is selected, even the highest quality repair plate will be ineffective. How should construction personnel choose the appropriate adhesive for drum lagging?
3. Essential Qualities of Drum Lagging Adhesive
A suitable adhesive for drum lagging must possess the following characteristics:
High Bonding Strength: Drums operate under high centrifugal force. The adhesive must have exceptional bonding strength to prevent delamination of the lagging during operation.
Strong Environmental Adaptability: A key advantage of cold vulcanization is its applicability in diverse environments. The adhesive must perform reliably under various conditions for the method to be truly effective.
4. Recommended Adhesive: DESP SC2002
Currently, DESP SC2002 cold vulcanization drum lagging adhesive is widely used. This German-origin adhesive offers:
Exceptional Bond Strength: Post-curing adhesion can reach up to 10,000 cps, comparable to hot vulcanization adhesive grades.
Broad Temperature Tolerance: Suitable for temperatures ranging from -40°C to 120°C, ensuring performance across various environmental conditions.
Rapid Curing: When used with its dedicated hardener, it cures up to three times faster than conventional adhesives, highlighting the efficiency and effectiveness of the cold vulcanization process.
