Belt Vulcanizing Machine: Applications and Jointing Process
Belt vulcanizing machines are widely used for on-site splicing of conveyor belts in industries such as metallurgy, chemical processing, metal mining, power plants, ports, and terminals. The vulcanized joint achieves a tensile strength of no less than 90% of the original belt, creating a smooth connection that reduces roller wear and extends the service life of both the conveyor belt and rubber transport components. Below, Wuxi Yikai Mining and Metallurgy introduces the belt vulcanizing machine.
Safety Notice:
If an electrical malfunction occurs, repairs must be performed by a certified electrician. Unqualified personnel should never attempt repairs to avoid personal injury. If issues persist, contact the manufacturer for professional service. Wuxi Yikai Mining and Metallurgy Equipment Co., Ltd. specializes in producing vulcanizing machines and electric hydraulic pumps.
Jointing Preparation:
One set of conveyor belt vulcanizing machine
Two sets of clamping plates
One set of belt stripping machine

Belt splicing materials
Power cables
Position the conveyor belt on the frame with the joint accessible
Disconnect power and remove protective covers/brackets
Jointing Procedure:
Setup and Preparation
Position the vulcanizer and mark/cut the joint area
Use the stripping machine to create step layers (ensure uniform without damaging underlying cords)
Maintain corresponding step patterns on both belt ends
Surface Treatment
Roughen surfaces with tungsten carbide grinding discs without damaging cord layers
Pay special attention to edge treatment (critical yet challenging areas)
Ensure complete coverage without missed spots
Bonding Preparation
Clean joint surfaces thoroughly and apply cement uniformly
Use materials manufactured within 3 months (expired materials cause bonding failures)
Apply a layer of core rubber on the joint surface
Assembly and Vulcanization
Align the other belt end and apply cover rubber at the seam
Precisely calculate cover rubber thickness based on belt specifications
Pressurize to 1.2 MPa and heat to 145°C
Maintain temperature for 30 minutes (adjustable based on belt specifications)
Improper curing time causes under/over-vulcanization
Quality Inspection
Check joint flatness after demolding
Identify bubbles, unevenness, or honeycomb pores at edges
