​​Key Considerations and Potential Impacts of the LBD Tape Vulcanizing Machine​

I. On-Site Safety and Preparation

The construction site must be equipped with two sets of 7kg dry powder fire extinguishers, sandboxes, water, and other firefighting equipment.

All electrical equipment must have reliable grounding protection, and cables should be inspected regularly.

Flammable materials such as gasoline and tape must be stored away from heat sources, and a dedicated person should be assigned to manage them.

After vulcanization is completed, cut off the power supply, clean the work area, and organize and store the vulcanizer and various tools to ensure the machine is ready for its next use.

II. Vulcanization Operation Procedures

During operation, tighten the bolts at the four corners of the LBD vulcanizer evenly.

On the surfaces of the original belt on both sides of the joint, cover each belt section with three sets of four-layer mesh cloth and roving. Position this appropriately.

The length of the lead wire should be fixed on the platen vulcanizer. The length of the joint (l) should be 100mm longer than the belt width at both longitudinal ends.

Cover with the heating plate, position the jack, and align the spotlight before starting the pressure application.

Two operators should work together, applying pressure gradually from one side, then from the opposite side until the rated pressure is reached.

When the heating plate temperature rises to 135°C, vent the air once through the exhaust valve. Continue heating.

When the temperature reaches 140°C, condensate inside the vulcanizer must be drained again.

When the temperature reaches 145°C, begin calculating the vulcanization time.

III. Storage and Daily Maintenance

The LBD tape vulcanizing machine should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated environment to prevent rust.

If the working environment is damp or water-prone, place the machine on a raised platform during disassembly and transfer to avoid direct contact with water.

If the machine gets wet due to improper operation during use, it should first be repaired by the manufacturer. For emergency drying, open the heating plate cover, sprinkle an appropriate amount of water-absorbing material (note: the original text said "sprinkle water" which might be a error; drying is the correct action), set the control box to manual mode, heat to 100°C, maintain the temperature for half an hour to dry the circuits, and then proceed with belt splicing in manual mode. Meanwhile, contact the manufacturer promptly to arrange for maintenance or replacement of affected parts.

After each use, drain the water from the hydraulic system, especially in winter. Failure to drain water can lead to premature aging of hydraulic rubber components and reduce their service life.

The correct drainage method is to perform the drainage while the machine is still warm after vulcanization and heat preservation, right before the machine is moved. If drainage is attempted after the machine is completely disassembled and cooled, water may not be fully discharged from the hydraulic plates.

IV. Impact of Over-Temperature

Excessively high temperature in the LBD vulcanizing machine not only adversely affects the machine itself but also negatively impacts the materials being vulcanized.

Due to the comprehensive effects of high temperature on various aspects of the vulcanizer, manufacturers conduct numerous tests during the production process. Among them, the temperature measurement test of the vulcanizer, known as the contact temperature measurement test, is used to judge the impact of high temperature on the working components of the vulcanizer.
