Precautions and Maintenance of Tape Vulcanizing Machine

一、Precautions for Use

Power Safety: Before operation, check that the power supply voltage matches the machine's rated voltage. The grounding must be reliable. It is recommended that power connection and disconnection be performed by a qualified electrician.

Firm Fixation: During on-site operation, ensure the vulcanizing machine is placed on a stable and level surface and firmly secured with steel cables or other fixtures to prevent movement or tipping during the vulcanization process.

Temperature and Pressure Control: Strictly follow the process requirements for the vulcanization temperature, pressure, and time. Do not arbitrarily increase the temperature or pressure to avoid damaging the heating plates, hydraulic system, or the belt itself.

Personal Safety: During operation, wear appropriate protective gear (e.g., heat-insulating gloves) to avoid burns from high-temperature components such as the heating plates and the machine body. Keep hands and clothing away from the moving parts of the hydraulic clamping device.

Inspection before Use: Before each use, check the integrity of the heating plates, the flexibility of the pressure system, and the reliability of the electrical connections. If any abnormalities are found, do not use the machine and proceed with troubleshooting first.

二、Routine Maintenance and Upkeep

Cleaning after Use:

After each use, promptly clean the surface of the heating plates and the mold with a soft cloth to remove residual rubber and stains. Avoid using sharp metal objects for scraping to prevent damaging the plate surface.

Keep the overall machine clean, and wipe off dust, oil stains, and moisture.

Hydraulic System Maintenance:

Regularly check the oil level in the hydraulic station. If the oil level is insufficient, add hydraulic oil of the same brand and specification promptly.

Periodically replace the hydraulic oil to ensure oil cleanliness and prevent system blockages or component wear. When replacing the oil, clean the oil tank simultaneously.

Check the hydraulic pipelines and joints for leaks. If leaks are found, tighten or replace the seals promptly.

Heating System Inspection:

Regularly check the insulation resistance of the heating plates using a megger. If the insulation drops significantly (e.g., below 50 MΩ), the cause should be identified, and the plates should be dried or repaired.

Check the connection status of the heating pipes and temperature sensors to ensure there are no loose connections or poor contacts.

Electrical System Maintenance:

Regularly check the power cords and control cables for aging or damage. Replace them immediately if any issues are found.

Keep the electrical control box clean and dry, and prevent dust and moisture from entering. Periodically tighten terminal screws.

Storage Requirements:

When not in use for an extended period, the machine should be stored in a dry, ventilated, and dust-free warehouse. The ambient relative humidity should preferably not exceed 85%.

Place the machine on a wooden pallet or shelf; avoid direct contact with the ground. Apply anti-rust oil to the exposed metal surfaces (such as the pressure rod).

Regular Calibration:

Periodically have professional technicians calibrate the temperature control meter and pressure gauge to ensure the accuracy of vulcanization temperature and pressure, which is crucial for guaranteeing joint quality.

By following the above precautions and maintenance procedures, the performance of the tape vulcanizing machine can be effectively maintained, its service life extended, and the smooth progress of on-site belt jointing work ensured.
